Morning. Sitting here with my mug of steaming coffee amidst sounds of doggie-snores.
Yesterday, we received our garage key code at the condo-complex we reside – so today after tutoring will be a big clear out and organization of our home. I am so thankful for the extra space, and for the ability to reclaim a room in our home that has, for the past two months, been used exclusively as storage. My plan for the room is to transform it into a guest room/home office – a place where I can check my email and my friends who travel to visit can spend the night. Though, knowing Madeline (my Rhodesian) she will consider it her space in no time at all.
I am so excited for the tail-end of this week. On Friday, the hubby and I are headed to Philadelphia as part of my birthday present this year. He purchased tickets to a murder mystery at Laurel Hill Cemetery – and I am so excited for it. I lived in Philadelphia for the better part of six years, and it will always be a place I consider home.
Laurel Hill Cemetery for those who don’t know, is an absolutely gorgeous property. Within it is a large lush garden, sculptures and other art installations, and beautiful views of the Schuylkill and city. In addition to the these fun evenings (murder mysteries, ghost tours, concerts, etc.) The friends of Laurel Hill host 5k Runs for Fundraising and Host a “Gravediggers Ball”. It is truly a unique and interesting bit of history and is home to the final resting place of many of Philadelphia/U.S.’s wealthiest families.
